No doubt about it, economic times are tough here in the United States of America, and California is one of the hardest hit of all the states. While in good times the sunshine state literally booms, the busts tend to hit equally hard. People who were getting paid huge salaries for installing lead-lined doors find themselves making nothing in a month, worrying about whether or not they can afford the mortgage on their Anaheim real estate. And the really bad news here is that the recession is showing no real signs of improvement.

Among those hardest hit in times like these are the youth of the state. Lacking a lot of experience and education which can impart them with the skills they need to find gainful employment, youth are very vulnerable to the ups and downs of the economy. Many have goals of becoming teachers or doctors or even a Canadian lawyer, but they need money in order to pay for education to do so. It can be very helpful knowing where to look for jobs which can get you this kind of money.

The first place you should check for summer youth employment are traditional hospitality industry jobs. Although no one is making as much money as they were five years ago, spending at restaurants, hotels, amusements parks, theaters, and other public entertainment spots has actually gone up. That's a weird part of any recession; people try to forget about their worries for a bit. And that's good news for youth, who traditionally fill the positions in these places because they can work for a lower wage. Summer time is busy time for all hospitality and entertainment venues, so check them out before looking for work with a process calibrator.

If working with the public for minimum wage isn't your thing, there are other options. Cities such as Anaheim offer dozens of different youth job programs for qualified individuals all over the city. They partner with places like a London Ontario animal hospital which runs a local branch in order to get youth employed for the summer. More often than not, in order for these programs to work for you there are a few conditions which need to be met. You will most likely have to be going back to school in the fall, and many places of employment are looking for youth with a future interest in what they do.

The good news about summer employment is that it almost always leads to something more permanent, if you are willing to work hard enough and do the job well. No need to work a tube cutting machine next year if you leave a good impression at the doctor's office this year!
